cookies
kornees.cz is deliberately minimalist. We use no advertising or tracking tools, build no visitor profiles and share no data with ad networks. We measure traffic only anonymously and in aggregate, without cookies (see below). The Czech version of this document is the authoritative one; this is a courtesy translation.
Strictly necessary storage
The website itself stores no cookies on your device. We store a single value in your browser’s localStorage:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| kornees-cookie-consent | strictly necessary (localStorage) | remembers your choice in the cookie bar so it doesn’t show repeatedly | until you clear your browser data |
This value stays on your device only and is never sent to our server. Under Section 89(3) of Czech Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on electronic communications, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user does not require consent. Remembering your own choice in the bar is exactly such a case, so we do not ask for consent for it.
Anonymous traffic measurement
For a basic overview of traffic we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This tool is privacy-first: it uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, builds no profiles, does not fingerprint your browser and does not track you across sites. It collects only aggregate, anonymous data – page views, where the visit came from, approximate browser and device type, country and performance metrics (load speed). Your IP address is not used to identify you and is not stored.
Because this measurement neither stores nor reads anything on your device, it falls outside Section 89(3) of Act No. 127/2005 Coll. and requires no consent. Processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in running and improving the website; the data is anonymous and aggregate.
Why you don’t see a classic consent pop-up
We deploy no cookies or other technologies that would store or read information on your device and require consent – including the traffic measurement described above. The cookie bar is therefore informational only; clicking “got it” just closes the bar and saves that choice to the necessary storage. If we ever introduce tools that use cookies or marketing tracking, we will ask for your active opt-in consent first (as required by Section 89(3) of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., in force since 1 Jan 2022).
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may exceptionally set a strictly necessary security cookie protecting the site from abuse; it serves security only, not tracking, and requires no consent.
Instagram photos
The homepage shows previews of our Instagram posts. The feed is fetched on the server, so Instagram stores no cookies on your device. The photos, however, load directly from the Instagram/Facebook content network (scontent.cdninstagram.com); when displayed, your IP address and technical request data are transmitted to Meta. This is not a cookie but third-party content – see our privacy policy.
Links to other services
The website links to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and the Foodora delivery service. If you follow these links, those services may use their own cookies under their own terms, which we do not control.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. You can also delete the stored value and any cookies in your browser settings.
Effect and changes
We will update this document whenever our use of cookies changes. Effective from 10 July 2026.
